Description
Gustav Klimt (1862 – 1918)
A member of the Austrian Sezession, a pioneer of contemporary art with an irresistible decorative Jugendstil.
Expectation (1905 – 1909)
Klimt himself, a man of few words, later called this image simply ‘the dancer’. It could be though that this geometrical ornamented portrayal has a logical connection with ‘The Fulfilment’, which also forms a part of a mosaic design in the ‘Palais Stocklet’ in Brussels.
